Recreating a video game… on Squarespace

Ben is an incredibly talented film director and producer who has been involved in music videos for the best of the best in country music (think Tim McGraw, FGL, and Jake Owen). He’s also an avid basketball fan. Ben and I had worked together in the past and he was amazing to work with. So when I texted me saying he had a crazy idea, I was hooked. The idea... a website that looks like a “Choose your Team” screen from an early 90s basketball video game. Challenge accepted.

Yes, it was built entirely in Squarespace. Yes, there are authentic fonts, effects, and graphics. Yes, there’s an 8 bit theme song.

Not only was this site a ton of fun, it was almost entirely built by hand. Just an example of what can be done with Squarespace.

Note: Clients have full ownership of their sites once they are completed so I don’t link to live sites because I can’t guarantee that the site has remained how I designed it.
