Before we start your project, I’ll send you an in-depth questionnaire to make sure that your site has absolutely everything that you need for your business.

Planning & strategy meeting

We’ll kick off your project with a 1 hour planning and strategy meeting to make sure that we’re both on the same page and that expectations are clear all around.

On brand design

Every piece of your new Squarespace site will match your brand. Colors, fonts, and images will all be in line with brand guidelines to keep your marketing seamless.

Image sourcing

Even if you have original photos, we may need additional photos or textures to bring your site to life. I’ll take care of sourcing or creating those images so you don’t have to.

Iconography

I will source or create icons that match the branding of your site to add an aesthetic that is unique to your business.

Custom 404 error page

Errors happen. When they do, it’s important to have a well designed error page to help get potential customers back on track to engaging with your site.

Third party integration

Email opt-ins, appointment scheduling, and surveys are all examples of third party software that you may need to communicate with your site. I’ll get them all set up and tested thoroughly.

Email and domain setup

I’ll gladly connect your new site with your domain. If you need email, I’ll get that set up for you as well.

SEO optimization

Your site will be fully SEO ready with optimized images, fast loading speed, and appropriate meta-data so that you can begin rising through search engine rankings

Registration with Google

Once your site is live, I’ll take care of registering with Google and setting you up with a Google Analytics account to start tracking your views and conversions.

Thorough testing

I’ll click every link and button and test your site on multiple devices to make sure your site functions exactly how it should on every device.

Handover assistance & training

How it works

Discovery & Content

Well before a single line of code is written, we will spend some time planning out your site. I will send you a detailed questionnaire and instructions for how to gather and create the content for your site. I recommend that all of my clients come with branding guidelines, professionally written copy, and professional photos. If that is not an option for you, then we can discuss alternatives.

Strategy & Planning

While you are gathering content, I will start mapping out your site and identifying how to best get customers from point A (your home page) to point B (checkout, scheduling, contact, etc). I will also create a basic wireframe for your home page.

Phase 1: The Home Page

I always start with the home page. It’s the first page your clients will see and design decisions made here will impact the rest of your site. I usually spend 3-4 days exclusively on the home page to make sure it’s just right. Once the initial design is done, I will send it to you for approval.

Phase 2: The Buildout

This is where most of the work takes place. I will begin building out the pages with the content that you have provided, making sure that every element on the site serves a distinct purpose and matches your brand guidelines. This is where I’ll do the bulk of customizations and third party integrations. I’ll also make sure that everything looks great on desktop and mobile. Don’t be surprised if you see some email updates with screenshots of my progress

Phase 3: Revisions

Once there is a fully functional site, I will send you a link so that you can request revisions. I’ll send you instructions for how to walk through the site page by page. I’ll take care of your revisions quickly and carefully! The package you purchase will determine how many rounds of revisions we will do.

Phase 4: Testing

I will crawl through every pixel of your site and make sure everything functions perfectly. I’ll also double check the mobile and tablet views to ensure there are no issues there. Once everything is cleared, then we’re ready to go!

Phase 5: Finalizing & Launch

We will schedule a final wrapup call to take care of any lingering issues. During this call, I will also walk you through updating your site. Then we will schedule the launch date and I will get your site connected to your domain.

Post-Launch

After your site is live, I provide at least two weeks of free service. If you have any questions or have unforeseen issues with your site, I will be on hand to take care of them. In this period, you jump to the top of my priority list so that your requests are taken care of before any other clients.
